VK Karthika is one of the best regarded names in Indian publishing and the Publisher of Westland (an Amazon company). At Westland, she led the launch of a new imprint, Context, that publishes literary fiction and political non-fiction. Prior to this, she was the Publisher and Chief Editor of HarperCollins Publishers India.
Karthika started her career with Penguin Books India in 1996 and moved to HarperCollins in 2006 to head its publishing programme in India. In 2017, she moved to Westland after it was acquired by Amazon. Karthika has published some of the biggest award-winning names in literary and popular writing in India.
