UPES Law Review is the leading UGC CARE listed academic annual peer reviewed journal emanating and embracing legal scholarship, of School of Law, UPES, Dehradun, published by Eastern Book Company. It had its inception in 2013 when it published its first volume and received the ISSN Number: 2347-9620. Its superior reputation is reflected in the excellent quality of the articles published by academicians, industry experts, law experts and scholars in its previous four editions and this flagship journal is about to enter its tenth publication cycle this year.

The Law Review does not only maintain its high standards for publication but also the highest level of integrity, transparency and consistency and has been working towards creating a landscape to promote qualitative and scholarly research.

The journal is now entering its X cycle with the theme “Law, Society and Technology” and we are delighted to invite submissions from academicians, professionals, industry experts and scholars for the upcoming cycle.

The 21st century is witnessing the intersection of law, society and politics, and there is a need to foster discussion on contemporary issues among us from different socio-legal-political perspectives. Law doesn’t operate in vacuum, it impacts society, and it gets affected by social, political events happening in society. Thus, it becomes essential to examine the impact of law on issues of morality, crime and punishment, free speech, democracy, inequality, and private property etc. The focus of the issue is to discuss firstly, how law plays regulative and coercive roles in society; Secondly, how social, political, and cultural forces impact the legal system.

The challenges coming from society are diverse, intricate, and are constantly evolving thus. Adapting to these challenges requires collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to upholding justice, equality, and the rule of law in an increasingly interconnected and complex world. As states strive to navigate this ever-changing landscape, it is inevitable to understand the impact of these challenges on the relationship between law, society, and politics.

Submissions can be in the form of articles, research papers and short notes. The acceptable word limit should not exceed:<br>
o Long Articles/Research Papers: <strong>7000 to 9000 words </strong><em>(inclusive of footnotes)</em><br>
o&nbsp;Short Articles/Short Notes: <strong>4000 to 5000 words </strong><em>(inclusive of footnotes)</em>

The extended abstract must contain the central research question and research design along with the proposed title and keywords <strong>(800 words)</strong>.

  • Font type and size of main text must be in Times New Roman 12 point font.
