Dr. Laxmi Kirola - Research

Dr. Laxmi Kirola, Assistant Professor at UPES School of Health Sciences and Technology, has secured a prestigious grant from the Department of Science and Technology's Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB) under the Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence (TARE) Scheme. Her project, 'Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Based Functional Characterizations of Novel Identified Disease Causal Gene(s)/Variant(s) in Families with Juvenile Parkinson’s Disease,' is conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sujata Mohanty, Professor at the AIIMS Stem Cell Facility, Delhi. This groundbreaking research aims to advance the understanding of juvenile Parkinson’s disease through innovative stem cell methodologies, potentially offering new insights into disease mechanisms and therapeutic approaches.
