DIBER-DRDO & UPES Joint Workshop - Research Event

The MATERIALIZING INNOVATIONS-III workshop, jointly organised by DIBER-DRDO and UPES, focused on fostering collaboration in defence research and innovation. Dr. Seema Vinayak, Director of the Defence Innovation Accelerator Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE) at IIT Roorkee, highlighted the centre's role in advancing critical defence technologies such as energy storage, avalanche studies, and thermal management. Dr. Devkant Pahad Singh, Scientist-G and Head of DIBER-DRDO, discussed sustainable solutions for high-altitude military support, identifying 15 potential areas for collaboration with UPES, including renewable energy and sustainable aviation fuel. The event emphasised the strategic importance of academia-defence partnerships, showcasing UPES's role in advancing national security and technological innovation.
