The RISE (Research on Impact, Sustainability, and ESG) Center at UPES is a premier hub dedicated to advancing research, education, and projects in sustainability, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact. Our center is committed to developing innovative solutions to address today’s most pressing challenges, including climate change, carbon neutrality, and sustainable development.

• Aspire Circle Fellowship
  This vertical nurtures visionary leaders passionate about sustainability and ESG. Through mentorship, immersive experiences, and hands-on projects, our fellows gain the skills needed to drive transformative change in their industries and communities.
• Environment Education
  Focused on empowering professionals and students, this vertical offers comprehensive academic and executive programs. Flagship initiatives include the Impact Specialist Program (ISP), which trains future Chief Impact Officers through a curriculum featuring over 20 sessions, 50+ caselets, and in-depth case studies.
  We also offer university courses and management development programs on cutting-edge topics such as AI for sustainability and specialized software training like ReGIS (Green Spaces).
• Sustainability Projects
  Dedicated to real-world impact, this vertical develops both short-term and long-term initiatives:
  • Short-Term Initiatives: Establishing baseline impact measurement at UPES, setting NetZero targets, and launching a live Green Dashboard.
  • Long-Term Projects: Developing a Net Zero Campus, carbon neutral by 2030 , establishing a Sustainability Living Lab in collaboration with partner institutions, and pioneering research initiatives such as Uttarakhand GEP studies, SDG mapping, and agentic AI for sustainable solutions.

Mission: 
We strive to equip current and future leaders with the knowledge and skills required to effect impactful change. By fostering a deep understanding of sustainability and ESG principles, we prepare individuals to lead Net Zero transitions, champion circularity initiatives, and balance risk, return, and impact.
